Typically the ozone generators are set in a empty room for 1-2 hrs depending on how persistant the odors are. Then ventilated for a hour to air out leaving the area with a fresh scent. Ozone has a very distinct smell to it but will dissipate as ozone has a half life of only 20 minutes, Have you every noticed after a thunderstorm the air has a particularly fresh scent, that is atmospheric ozone at work.
For automotive de-odorizing one or two hours is usually sufficient however extra dozing may be needed for embedded smokers ordors.
For fire/smoke/flood damaged facilities extra dosing may be needed depending on the extent of the odors/ damage.
